     As your Chief Professional Officer, I am proud to represent our highly motivated, flexible, talented and diverse group of dental professionals. I would like to thank you for visiting the web site of the Dental Professional Advisory Committee (DePAC).  This site provides a multitude of resources to help you through your career as well as useful information about the Dental Category of United States Public Health Service (USPHS).  It is also the central focus of communication and news dissemination for the Dental Category.  I encourage all of the members of the Dental Category to acquaint themselves with the information contained within it.  You will find important news on the main page. Additionally, we are proud of our new Career Resource Development Guide which serves as an extremely valuable source of information to help guide your career within the USPHS.

     Dental professionals of the USPHS serve in most of the Agencies of the Department of Health and Human Services as well as in other important programs of the Bureau of Prisons, the Division of Immigration Health Services, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the US Coast Guard supporting a common mission:  “protecting, promoting, and advancing the health and safety of the nation”. 

     As the Chief Professional Officer for the Dental Category of the USPHS, I will serve as the liaison between the Dental Category and the Surgeon General of the United States.  I will strive to be the conduit for information to and from the Office of the Surgeon General to the Category.  I look forward to our free exchange of information and encourage your participation in this dialogue.
